MISSION STATEMENT of The American River Acoustic Music Camp

WE BELIEVE… That anybody can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and make music confidently with other people! We strive to increase your musical skills and confidence whether you are just getting started or are an advanced player. We honor traditions and celebrate innovations especially through the voices each person and gathering has to offer. Folk music is social music. Whether you aspire to perform, just want to comfortably jam with friends, or share a song with a loved one, we’re here to help you do it! There are many roadmaps to learning music such as listening, looking, imitating and/or translating music ideas written down. They all have value and serve in the quest. Our instructors will guide you to whatever means are needed to find your way. No one path is better – only different. These roadmaps - and others we'll encourage you to discover - will keep you on your journey. The idea is not a formula for music but more an agenda to celebrate what you already have inside you. ARAMC helps bring you out to play! - Joe Craven, Artistic Director

New Camp Location: American River Resort

One of the exciting things we'd like to announce is our move across the river to the American River Resort. The resort offers us more facilities; flexibility in meal catering options; and most of all, a more financially sensible scenario that will enable the camp to go to the next level in the years to come. Another great feature is the large event center that will be a great location for jamming and student and instructor concerts. Our thanks go out to Coloma Resort for two wonderful years of ARAMC memories! www.americanriverresort.com
